Great Tips When Temping………
- Make sure you know where you are going (MapQuest directions are great), carry a city map in your car, and a KAMPS Staffing Manager’s business card which has the KAMPS phone number in case you get lost or have any questions.
- Arrive early to your assignment which always makes a great impression.
- Be courteous and friendly.
- Dress appropriately and show your professionalism --ask your KAMPS staffing manager if there is a specific dress code
- Know the details of your assignment and ask questions of your assigned supervisor if you do not understand your responsibilities.
- Remember—many “Temp” assignments are footholds into a “Permanent” position and they are trying you out--looking at your proficiency.
- It’s very important to complete your assignment and adhere to the assigned hours and be flexible if possible.
- Cell phones should be turned off and used only on break or lunch. Use KAMPS as your emergency phone number--(865) 531-2766. If an emergency occurs while on assignment KAMPS will know how to notify you.
- Double-check your work and check with your supervisor if you run out of things to do.
- Keep your work confidential to adhere to privacy rules for Medical Records.
- Work computers, internet, email and fax machines should not be used for personal use. Do not change computer passwords.
- Because you get paid weekly be sure you have a KAMPS time sheet to fax back to KAMPS (Fax # 531-9041). Be sure your assigned supervisor signs it at the completion of your weekly assignment and always give a copy of your time sheet to your client contact.
