• New!!  Online Medical Classified Advertising—KAM is now offering online medical-related classified advertising at a low cost of $1.25 per word for thirty days of advertising.  Categories include: Physician Job Opportunities, Physician Seeking Employment, Practice for Sale, Practice Wanted, Office Space, Medical Equipment for Sale, Medical Equipment Wanted, and Services.
• Pictorial member’s Directory—one copy free to each member
• KAM Publication – free subscription to the Bulletin mailed free to your office and home.  Published six times a year to keep physicians informed.  Members are encouraged to submit articles for publication.
• New!!  Speakers Bureau – Physician members may offer their expertise free and may volunteer to speak to civic organizations, businesses, or medical gatherings.
• Label Service offered at a discount to KAM members provides mailing labels for mailing of new doctor announcements, special medical event notifications, etc.
• KAM Website – The new updated www.knoxdocs.org has been re-designed to provide new online services and great information for physicians and the public.
• Medical Staffing Services –  KAMPS offers medical staffing (permanent and temporary placement) at a discount for physician members.

Communication/Mediation – KAM fields calls from the public looking for their medical records, or information on a physician who has moved, and from the public regarding complaints on Knox County physicians.  The KAM Grievance Committee was formed to help mediate patient issues with their physician to avoid legal action and promote goodwill among the community.

Grassroots Activity – KAM functions as the physician’s grassroots organization to help promote the legislative agenda of the Tennessee Medical Association and the American Medical Association.  KAM is working closely with TMA toward Tennessee Medical Liability Reform and will take proactive roles in representing physicians and their patients.  KAM wants to help transform healthcare issues at the regional, state, and national levels.  It will take more than a few physicians urging our legislators to support Medical Liability Reform.  Physician involvement will promote legislative victories vital to physicians and their patients!!

Opportunity to Serve – KAM has many committees and boards giving physicians an opportunity and the platform to voice their ideas and opinions.  The KAM Foundation’s new community project, Knoxville Area Project Access (KAPA), gives physicians an opportunity to give back to the community.

Camaraderie –  KAM Meetings, seminars, and social events give physicians and spouses opportunities to gather, bond, network, and share common interests, goals, or problems with others who understand the busy lives of physicians.  Spouses enjoy involvement through the KAM Alliance.

Media Liaison – The Academy works with local media to facilitate physician interview requests and requests for medical information.  Speakers Bureau is a database of KAM physicians who have agreed to be available for to speak to civic organizations, businesses, or medical gatherings, and be available for television and radio interviews as their schedule allows.

Because it’s the Right Thing To Do –  Many physicians actively participate, but even if your busy life doesn’t allow for time to attend committees or meetings, your membership dollars support work at the local, state, and national levels to problem solve and resolve medical issues affecting medicine today.  KAM’s focus is on the interests of physicians and the healthcare of our community.  Your membership allows KAM to continue making a difference.
